Nemcha Kipgen reaches out to frontline workers at Mao, streamline COVID-19 activities

Following the detection of more COVID-19 positive as an aftermath of heavy influx of stranded people from various places, Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister, Nemcha Kipgen, who is the in-charge Minister of Senapati and Kangpokpi districts for COVID-19 has expressed concern for frontline workers at Mao gate.
Deeply concerned for the wellbeing of all frontline workers at Mao gate, Nemcha Kipgen visited Mao for the second time today and reached out to all COVID-19 frontline workers with various PPEs while chairing a review meeting with the District Administration, Medical Department and District Police in the presence of PHE Minister Losii Dikho at his residence.
The review meeting was also attended by Harekrishna, IAS, COVID-19 Nodal Officer for Senapati, Somorjit Salam, IAS, DC Senapati, M.Pradip Singh, SP Senapati, Dr Dr N Dihe, CMO Senapati, DLOs of Senapati including SDOs, other medical officials and police officials apart from NPO, SDSA and SDWA.
During the meeting, the Minister provided Personal Protection Kit (Sitra & CE Certified) for all frontline workers at Mao gate including health workers, police personnel and district administration officials and staffs which included hooded coverall suit, face mask, hand gloves, safety eye wear, shoe cover and biodegradable bag and also foot operated hand sanitizer dispenser with huge quantity of hand sanitizers.
The Minister also handed over huge quantity of cotton washable face mask developed by Renu Handlooms and Handicrafts Co-operative Society Limited, Imphal East to DC Senapati, SP Senapati, each SDOs, CMO Senapati to distribute among the frontline workers.
Nemcha also lauded the commendable job and priceless sacrifice of all the frontline workers at Mao gate.
The meeting also discussed the restriction of vehicles ferrying stranded passengers at Mao gate from 4 pm after complaints were raised by concerned locals, the issue of entry of non-transit pass holders by the Government of Nagaland and other important issues including grievances of frontline workers at Mao gate.
As per the suggestion of Nemcha Kipgen, ADC Senapati assured to donate two vehicles for dropping stranded returnees at their respective quarantine centres while Minister Losii Dikho assured to donate a bus to ferry arriving stranded people from the screening centre to their respective quarantine centres.
The Minister also asked the Deputy Commissioner Senapati to assign the Addl District Magistrate as in-charge of the district screening centre and strictly monitor the roaster of the magistrate officials, on duty medical officials and police personnel.
She also strictly cautioned to follow the health guidelines and appealed all CSOs and others to put collective effort to overcome disease.
The Minister further urged health workers/officials, police personnel and other officials engaged in screening and law and order management at Mao gate and each and every quarantine centres to take due care in their activities and be sensitive and alert all the time.
Minister Losii Dikho, ADC Senapati Chairman, and the frontal organizations of Senapati also gave their commitment to render maximum support and cooperation towards the District Administration and to all frontline workers in the district.
