Imphal, March 16 2016: Reacting to the Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) charge of improper recruitment process related to some important posts in the Manipur University (MU) that appeared in the local dailies on March 5, an anonymous man who identified himself as MU deputy registrar has disclosed in the local dailies of March 15 that the VC is responsible for the mess with regards to improper recruitment process in the univer- sity.

It is worth mentioning that on March 5, DESAM has charged the university of recruiting its lower grade posts by ignoring the set guidelines and norms.

They also alleged that on April 2015, the university under the administration of VC Prof H Nandakumar Sarma fraudulently appointed K Jibankumar Singh as Finance Officer, who don't possess the minimum essential qualification for the post as prescribed in advertisement no.1/2014 of October 22, 2014 of the univer- sity.

The VC also made appointment of Dean of Students Welfare without releasing any advertisement for the said post.

MU also has not made any ordinance that deals with appoint- ment of the Director of IQAC and further charged the VC Prof H Nandakumar Sarma of indulging in corruption, favour- itism and nepotism in making the appointment.

They stated that as disclosed by the anonymous man, it is now pretty clear that the VC is responsible for the improper recruitment process prevalent in MU, a statement issued by publicity and propaganda secretary of DESAM said.
