Imphal, December 15 2024: Members of the Kakwa Pat Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited staged a sit-inprotest today against the act of placing a hand grenade at the Singjamei Waikhom Leikai residence of its general secretary RK Ranjan.

Speaking to media persons by the sideline of the protest demonstration, the society's chairman W Manglem said that the society has 204 members but it has little fund.

Moreover, all the fishes reared in Kakwa Pat were also carried away by floods, he said.

All the facts and other details can be ascertained by looking at the society's account book, Manglem said.

He then appealed to all concerned not to make unaffordable monetary demands and also to put an end to acts of threatening its members by placing bombs at their residences.

Notably, some unidentified persons placed a hand grenade at the residence of RK Ranjan at around 4.30 pm on December 12 and the same was retrieved by police.
