WCYSO's silver jubilee cum sports meet held

Senapati, December 01 2015: The XV session sports meet cum silver jubilee celebration of Willong Circle Youth and Students' Organization (WCYSO) under the theme "unite for excellence" started yesterday with the unfurling of the sports meet flag at the newly inaugurated playfield Roj ing' Marius Memorial ground, our correspondent reports.

RD & PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa, local ADC Member Rangpung John and ADC Member A Rang graced the inaugural function as chief guest, guest of honour and special guest respectively.

A speech by the first WCYSO president, cultural dance, choreography, oath taking, torch lighting and declaration of the game by the chief guest were the main highlights of the event.

Speaking at the occasion Francis Ngajokpa said the youth must explore sports opportunities by participating in events like the one organised by WCYSO and other local sports to reach State level and higher level.

"We have abundance of talented sport persons but we failed to explore their potential due to absence of facilities and opportunities.

We should begin tapping the potential of our sportsmen from a young age by drawing up a regular sports calendar", he added.

He further lauded WCYSO for organising such a sporting event to bring together all youth and students on a common platform and share talents and ideas.
