CCpur, August 14 2020: On his first appearance in public after dramatically vacating assembly seat as Singngat MLA, GS Haopu said he is more than happy to save the Biren Singh led Government and serve the interest of his community.

Haopu made the statement today before a handful of his workers here, while explaining to them the circumstances that led him to make the ultimate call.

He recalls how he was elected as a Congress MLA in March 2017 but deserted the party for the BJP led Government as was desired and instructed by leaders of KNO and UPF/ZRO, a month later.

His dramatic move to relinquish the Assembly seat as well as the Congress party on August 10, 2020 was also compelled by circumstances that serve the dual purpose of saving the Government and serving the interest of his community and its leaders.

He is also optimistic about re-winning the seat on BJP ticket as and when a by-election is held.
