Assam Rifles assists NGO

Thoubal, April 14 2020:
Thoubal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) distributed rations and other utility items to Breakthrough Mission India Drug Rehabilitation Centre, Khongjom Sangaikhong, Thoubal district today.
In a wake of lockdown due to novel coronavirus, with an aim to provide assistance to the needy, the battalion distributed the essential rations and other utility items to the NGO, said a statement of PRO IGAR (South) .
The NGO was given 50 kg rice, 25 kg dal, 25 kg sugar, 20 litres of milk, 15 litres of edible oil and other food items.
In addition, a medical team of the battalion interacted with the locals and educated them regarding various precautionary measures like regular hand washing, maintaining basic hygiene, sanitation, social distance and other measures to be taken to prevent spread of COVID-19 .
Troops of Assam Rifles are continuously contributing in the fight against the pandemic COVID-19 by conducting such activities and spreading awareness amongst the local population, said
