Drivers Day observed at Heirok

The All Heirok Auto Owners Drivers' Joint Action Committee today observed 6th Drivers Day at Heirok Part II Mayai Leikai Community Hall.
The event was attended by Yulembam Sumant, DSP, District Police Thoubal, Laishram Biren Meitei, chairman of All Heirok Auto Owners Drivers' Joint Action Committee, Robert Naorem, OC Heirok PS, 2nd OC, Bakta and Ningthoujam Jiban Meitei, secretary of Thoubal District Apunba Auto Rickshaw (Diesel) Drivers' and Owners Association as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, DSP Thoubal, Yumlembam Sumant urged the drivers to abide by the traffic rules and regulations to prevent road accidents and to ensure road safety.
Laishram Biren Meitei, chairman of All Heirok Auto Owners Drivers' Joint Action Committee highlighted the importance of abiding traffic rules to prevent road accidents.
He also urged the auto drivers to paste the Committee issued logos on their autos.
As part of the event, floral tributes were offered on the portraits of late auto drivers of the Committee, and a two minute silence was also observed to honour the departed souls.
