Imphal, March 13 2025:
Six Naga MLAs namely, Awangbow Newmai (NPF-Tamei), Khashim Vashum (NPF-Chingai), Losii Dikho (NPF-Mao), Leishiyo Keishing (NPF-Phungyar), J Kumo Sha (Independent-Karong) and Janghemlung Panmei (NPP-Tamenglong) called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan here on Thursday afternoon.
Speaking to The People's Chronicle in this regard, one of the senior MLAs conveyed that they apprised the Governor on various issues faced by the common people, assured to extend cooperation in every step to ensure peace and also exuded confidence that the state will definitely return to peace and normalcy under the leadership of the Governor.

They also pointed out to the Governor that the conflict cannot be easily resolved as it was caused by the illegal immigrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh who decided to settle in the state illegally.
As such, even if the central government deploys all available forces in the state, it would be difficult to resolve.
Until the central government applies both short and long term policies, the conflict would continue in one form or the other even if it stops or subsides for some years.
The senior MLA continued that the Governor was also made aware of the involvement of illegal immigrants in the Naga-Kuki clash of 1993.A similar clash is now occurring between the Meetei and Kuki communities.
Thus, to end the conflict for a short term, steps could be taken up to gather the leaders of various communities with similar thinking to plan for peace.
Regarding long term, the MLAs proposed to the Governor that the central government should see to the deportation of all the illegal immigrants from Manipur or else the conflict would never come to an end.
