Education Minister inaugurates classrooms

Imphal, February 13 2020: Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam today inaugurated the newly constructed six classrooms of Pitra Primary School, Pitra and the three additional classrooms of the Ingourok Upper Primary School, Ingourok, under ZEO � III Thoubal constructed with funding from the Department of Education (S).

Speaking at the inaugural function, the Minister expressed that for a society to progress children need to be provided with proper education.

Betterment of education and health sectors are the main priorities of the Government, he said adding that these two sectors are the most important since one shapes the future and the other protects the life.

These sectors are, however expensive and people belonging to economically weaker section who live hand to mouth can hardly afford it, the Minister pointed out.

Dr Thokchom Radheshyam said that the incumbent Government is putting efforts to make these sectors accessible to the people.

With a stand to provide a better education system and health service, this Government is implementing 'School Fagathansi Mission', 'Chief Ministergi Sotharabasing-gi Tengbang '(CMST), Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) etc, he said adding that School Fagathansi Mission was implemented to improve the quality, infrastructure and performance of children in the Government schools while CMST and CMHT were launched mainly for the poor, needy and disabled people of the State.

Up-Adhyaksha Thoubal (ZP) T Nungshi Singh, ZEO, A Anilkumar Singh, officials concerned, headmasters, teachers, students among others attended the inaugural function.
