Imphal, November 12 2015:
M/S Rbd Indane Service has made certain clarifications regarding the news report which appeared in this paper in the edition dated Nov 11 wherein a consumer on anonymity pointed out that his LPG distributor had collected Rs 500 as home delivery charge from each consumer.
In a statement, proprietor of M/s Rbd Indane Service said that they (M/s Rbd Indane Service) do not collect Rs 500 from consumers as home delivery charge.
But the consumers are made to deposit the amount (approximate cost of one refilled LPG cylinder) as adjustable amount/advance payment for one LPG refill in case the consumers do not have ready money when the LPG refill is delivered to their home.
Receipt/cash memo for the amount collected from consumers is not issued since the amount is collected without the approval of IOCL.
The amount is collected only as per an agreement between the consumers and the LPG distributor/agency, it clarified.
Any consumer who has objection or grievance in this regard may approach the office of the distributor and the amount may be refunded, it said.
The distributor has no intention to deceive its customers or collect huge amount from them, it added.
The price of one refilled LPG cylinder was approximately Rs 450 when the agency started home delivery service in 2011.It is at this rate that the distributor made the consumers to deposit Rs 500 as advance payment/adjustable for one refilled LPG cylinder in case the consumers have no ready cash to pay when the LPG refill is delivered to them.
It further clarified that the distributor is charging over Rs 30 as home delivery charge for each LPG refill as per the approval of DC, Imphal East.
Collection of Rs 500 as advance amount for LPG refill and the issue of availing 12 subsidised LPG refills in a year are not related, it said.
It urged its consumers to bring any grievances to the office for necessary rectification.
