CM inaugurates ITI building in Lilong

Imphal, October 12 2015: Expansion of the Lilong-Pallel road stretch of National Highway 102 will begin soon and Rs 50 crore has been earmarked to pay compensation to affected residents, Chief Minister O Ibobi has said.

The Chief Minister announced this on Monday while inaugurating the newly constructed ITI building at Lilong Mairen Khul in Thoubal District.

The function was jointly organised by Labour & Employment Department and Husk Skill Development Centre Pvt Ltd.

Ibobi explained that ITI trains many people for skill development and it also provides job opportunities to them and that outside companies engage well-trained individuals.

Stating that every individual has to execute duty with utmost earnestness, Chief Minister Ibobi added that a doctor who works at Government hospital is not respected by people if he or she attempts to use the profession at private hospitals.

Ibobi said ITI is an important institute and the newly established one at Lilong Mairen Khul will train people in different fields in association with the Husk Development Centre.

The Government is also eying for setting up this type of institutes in the hill districts, Ibobi assured.

He said 50 percent of the ITI passed out students from the State are working with various outside companies.

Meanwhile, Ibobi sought cooperation from Lilong residents in taking up the expansion and improvement work on Lilong-Pallel road.

He also felt the need for rebuilding of the present Lilong Keithel for which acquisition of land is necessary.

The ITI building at Lilong Mairen Khul was constructed under the funding of Ministry of Minority Affairs.
