Imphal, April 12 2013 : In pursuance of the theme, 'Saving Lives and Building Peace of the Rotary Gift of Life' and Heart to Heart project, the Rotary Club of Imphal, Rotary Club of Polo City, Imphal, in association with Rotarians of Rotary Clubs of Delhi East End and Delhi Mid West would provide a new lease of life to three-year old, Baby Neimuonzo Vaiphei of Leisang Village, Churachandpur district.

Baby Neimounzo will be the 112th child from the State to be operated under the Rotarian project.

She will be operated at the country's top paediatric heart institute, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi and the surgery would be performed by Dr Krishna Iyer, world renowned Paediatric heart surgeon.

The funds for the operation are raised by the Rotarians of New Delhi from among themselves, friends, well-wishers and Rotarians from different parts of the country and the world, said a statement.

There is no funding from any Government or organisations, it said while adding that Rotarians of Imphal have been contributing part of the surgery costs of the children.

16 other children from the State would be operated over the next three months, it informed while appealing all concerned citizens to extend assistance in saving the lives of the tender hearts.
