State logs three deaths, 110 fresh cases

Imphal, February 12 2022:
The state on Saturday reported 110 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1600 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering a positivity rate of 6.88 per cent, which is marginal increase from Friday's 6.46 per cent.
Saturday also reported three death cases which took the number of Covid fatalities to 2080 .
The latest victims were residents of Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal districts.
One of them had received first dose of vaccine and the other two were unvaccinated.
The virus has claimed lives of 178 vaccinated people of which 52 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 131 patients were discharged from home isolation (83), RIMS (8), JNIMS (18) and CCCs (22).The caseload came down to 2321 out of which 608 (26.20 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 245 vacant beds in JNIMS and 102 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, four did not report any fresh Covid cases on Saturday.
So far, the state has recorded 9960 positive cases and 78 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 2492 new positive cases and 34 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 1087 and 21 respectively.
According to official reports, the 110 fresh cases included 108 people (50 male & 58 female) from among the general population and two personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (12), JNIMS (15) and other testing centres (83) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (29), Imphal West (29), Thoubal (12), Bishnupur (14), Kakching (7), Kangpokpi (3), Tengnoupal (1), Ukhrul (4), Noney (1), Senapati (1), Chandel (3) and Churachandpur (4) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,35,748 (general population - 1,30,752 and CAPF personnel - 4,996).Number of recovered cases is 1,31,347 (general population - 1,26,455 and CAPF personnel - 4,892) and number of active cases is 2321 (general population - 2224 and CAPF personnel - 97) .
The recovery rate is 96.76 per cent.
A total of 280 D-type and 50 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 7712 vaccine doses were administered on Friday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 14,81,507, out of which 10,92,244 had received second doses and 48,341 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,254), Imphal East (30,149), Thoubal (10,051), Churachandpur (10,985), Kangpokpi (3093), Tamenglong (3438), Bishnupur (9706), Senapati (2448), Ukhrul (3204), Kakching (6819), Chandel (2671), Noney (1143), Tengnoupal (1182), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1031) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (695), Imphal East (500), Thoubal (186), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (65), Tamenglong (15), Bishnupur (200), Senapati (11), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (120), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,747 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,378 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,99,725 tests per million population against the national average of 5,34,517 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.53 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1600 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 6.88 per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.75 per cent.
