Chandel, August 11 2022: Noting that a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the leaders of ATSUM, ANSAM & KSO Gen HQ and the State Government represented by Minister TA & Hills, Letpao Haokip; Diganglung Gangmei, Chairman HAC and Members of HAC on 7 August 2022, in which the Government agreed to the demands of ATSUM to table the Manipur Hill Areas District Council Amendment bill 2022 in the State Assembly and thereafter refer to the Hill Areas Committee for further discussion with the stakeholders before recommending to the Manipur Legislative Assembly.

The State Government had also released the arrested ATSUM leaders unconditionally as per the MoU.

Later, ATSUM denounced the MoU and suspended Vanlanlien Khaute, vice-president ATSUM and agreed to continue with the agitation & economic blockade.

Therefore, the Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) will not endorse any kind of activities in regards to the above two instances in its jurisdiction until an amicable understanding is brought forward.
