No supplies for tribal tenants, says FATYCM

Imphal, April 11 2020: Despite the assurance from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Biren Singh that no one will go hungry during the Nationwide lockdown period, hundreds and thousands of tribal people living in the valley area are not yet receiving any relief materials from the Government side, claimed Federation of All Tribal Youth Clubs Manipur (FATYCM) in a statement today.

Saying that students, daily wages earner, vendors etc are the worst affected by the COVID-19 crisis and denying relief materials to people from such sections is heartbreaking, it appealed the State Government to look into the matter at the earliest.

Many deserving tribal populace who are staying in the valley have not received any relief materials till date, it claimed.

On the other hand, FATYCM lauded the Chief Minister for announcing an award of Rs 35 lakh to the doctors attending the first COVID-19 patient of Manipur at JNIMS.
