Imphal, January 11 2025: Mushroom fanner cum agripreneur Rajkumari Binita Devi from Moirangkampu Sajeb, Imphal East has been conferred the Best Farmer's Award by ICAR Research Complex for North East Hill Region, Umiam, Meghalaya during the institute's golden jubilee celebration held at ICAR Umiam, Meghalaya from January 9 to 10, 2025 .

The award carries a memento, certificate and cash prize of Rs 10,000 .

According to a release issued by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Rajkumari Binita Devi started growing mushrooms in 2011 and turned to mushroom entrepreneur from 2016.Presently, she is producing about 40,000 Kg of fresh mushrooms annually.

She also produces various mushroom products such as dried mushroom, mushroom powder, mushroom pickle, mushroom nuggets (bori), mushroom cookies, mushroom noodles, mushroom papad and recently launched mushroom chips.

She was provided training and technical support by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat and Agri-Business Incubation Centre of ICAR Manipur Centre.
