Imphal, November 10 2012:
Even after two months of the State cabinet resolution to appoint weight lifter Ng Soniya, who represented India in the recently concluded London Olympics, the post of DSP in the State Police, the state government has failed to provide the offer form till date.
With no offer form made available to her so far, Ng Soniya, who returned home leaving her job as an Inspector in Uttar Pradesh, is today apprehensive of whether she would be able to take part in the All India Police Meet scheduled on November 15 .
In a tete-a-tete with Hueiyen lanpao, Ng Soniya said that with the All India Police Meet knocking at the door, top officials of UP Police have been bombarding her with phone calls to come back and have even assured of promoting her to the post of DSP.
"Since I have not won any medal for Manipur till today, I want to play for Manipur and thus ignoring all the calls and offer from the UP Police and waiting eagerly for the Manipur government to provide me with the offer form as promised", she explained.
Sonia further stated that she would be waiting for the offer form till next Monday and if the State Government fails to provide the offer form by that time, she may be compelled to leave and make preparations for participation in All India Police Meet representing UP Police.
"However, though I have made up my mind to go ahead with my plans I find it hard to leave my motherland", she added.
Before the Chief Minister left Imphal, he had informed her that the offer form would be made available to her very soon and also asked her to quit her job in the UP Police as soon as she gets the offer form.
But since the Chief Minister is out of station, the offer form could not be process further.
If the Chief Minister sends the offer via internet, she would immediately join the State Police and get herself ready for All India Police Meet, Soniya added.
