Former Congress leader from Phek joins BJP

Kohima, July 10 2014: Former Congress leader from Phek, Dr K Hoshi, has formally joined the BJP on Thursday, saying that he had taken the decision to join the party in view of the fast changing political scenario across the country and for the larger interest of his people as well.

Talking to NEPS over phone from Dimapur on Thursday, the former Congress leader, who just resigned from the Congress on July 4, last week, stated that BJP-led NDA was already in power at the Center and said the BJP would come to power in Nagaland too.

Appealing to the people of Nagaland to give a chance to the BJP before giving any pre-judgment, Dr Hoshi also disclosed that more like-minded people in the state would soon join the BJP and expressed the hope that the party would go from strength to strength.

Thanking the state BJP president, spokesperson and the general secretary for inviting him to the party, he assured that he would discharge whatever duties and responsibilities assigned to him by the party with dedication and commitment as a loyal party soldier.

It may be mentioned that Dr Hoshi contested twice as Congress candidates from 19th Phek Assembly Constituency unsuccessfully against present R & B Minister Azo Neinu.
