NCP wants dialogue to end conflict in state: RB

Imphal, June 10 2011:
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) stands for ending the conflicts in the state, said its Manipur unit president, Radhabinod Koijam said today speaking at the 13th foundation celebration function of the national political party at its head office at Thangmeiband Kabrabam Leikai.
The former chief minister said that NCP will not leave no stone unturned in trying to bring an end to the conflict situation and unrest situation of the state.
The party is giving a special attention to armed conflict through dialogue.
The ideology of solving a conflict wit armed struggle is an outdated one is well known to the common people too, he said.
It is a must to hold dialogue to ease the unrest situation of the state, he said asserting that plebiscite, proposed by UNLF chairman, is needed for the state.
It is high time for the government to communicate with the underground outfits to initiate dialogue, he said.
Radhabinod claimed that the Congress in Assam secured majority in the recently conducted Assembly election in the state because of the initiative taken by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to bring ULFA leaders to the negotiating table.
The development work taken up by the Congress government is another factor which added the Congress in returning to power again, he added.
NCP has been pressurizing the SPF government to follow the same trend or to take up a similar step for ending the conflict situation of the state, but this government still remaining in deaf mute, he blamed.
The foundation day celebration of the NCP which will be continued till June 17 was presided by its vice president Dr Jaimson Haokip.
MLA Th Nandakishore, the treasurer of the party and general secretary MLA Doukhomang Khongsai were among others who attended the function.
