Hiroshima/Nagasaki Day observed

The observation of Hiroshima/Nagasaki Day was held at the auditorium of Manipur Science Centre(MSC), Takyelpat today.
The observation was organised by the MSC, Department of Science and Technology, Govt of Manipur.
The event was graced by N Debachandra Singh, Director, NIELIT, Akampat; Homila Hongrei, Director, Department of Science and Technology; M Ramo Singh, Senior Scientific Officer, Department of Science and Technology and TD Kom, Curator.

Speaking as the chief guest, N Debachandra Singh the observation is held to commemorate the atomic bombings at Hiroshima and Nagasaki which killed numerous lives and had an adverse impact in the climate of these regions.
He also appealed to use the advanced science and technologies for the betterment of mankind rather than for destructive purposes.
Homila Hongrei while elaborating on the ill-effects of war, maintained that wrongful use of science and technologies will only affect mankind.
Therefore she appealed to all to be aware of the pros and cons of science and technology and to implement it for building a progressive and peaceful society.
