KSO condemns alleged assault

The Kuki Students' Organisation (Imphal branch) strongly condemned the alleged assault of two innocent villagers by security personnel at RIMS on April 6 last while urging the authority concerned to look into the matter.
According to a KSO statement issued by its general secretary, Thangminlein Singsit, T Angam Kuki and Jameson Kuki of L Phaimol village in Churachandpur district went to RIMS on April 6 to visit a sick family member who is treated at the hospital.
They were denied entry by the security personnel though some visitors were let in after greasing the palm of the security personnel, the KSO statement said.
The two villagers made another attempt to enter the ward only to be assaulted by the security personnel, the KSO alleged adding that some bystanders also joined the personnel in assaulting the duo.
Pointing out that one of the victims is a physically challenged person, the statement strongly condemned the incident of assaulting innocent villagers by the security personnel who are supposed to safeguard the visitors.
Urging the RIMS authority to take necessary actions against the erring personnel, the KSO has warned of taking the matter in their hand if the authority fails to do so.
