During Zero Hour, MLA Govindas Konthoujam expressed concern over the attack on MCS officer Abdul Hakim recently and urged the Government to make a statement in the House.
He stated that such attacks on the Government servants will discourage them from discharging their duties and joining posting places.
Giving a statement in this regard, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said a suo-moto case has been registered and investigation is on.
The motive behind the attack on the MCS officer is yet to be ascertained and the culprits are yet to be identified and arrested.
Unidentified miscreants had fired at the vehicle of the MCS officer when he was returning from Noney after joining as ADC (Additional Deputy commissioner) of the district.
The incident happened at an area between Charoi Padongba and Seijang CRPF Camp along Imphal-Jiribam National Highway on February 2 at around 5.58 pm.
Two bullets had hit his vehicle.
