Imphal, February 08 2014 :
The Military Affairs Committee (MAC) of United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has extended its warms greetings to the people of Manipur in connection with the 27th Raising Day of the outfit's armed wing, Manipur People's Army (MPA) .
According to a statement issued by the Acting Chairman of UNLF Khundongbam Pambei, the UNLF has been fighting against oppression of the Indian colonialists in Manipur.
The region has been turned into a military zone by deploying more than 60000 Indian security personnel, 30000 policemen and 10000 VDF personnel.
The security forces have been violating human rights under the protection of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), 1958 .
There is no respect for international laws in the region.
The people of Western Southeast Asia (WESEA) have been totally suppressed by the colonial agents by enacting several laws to restrain their rights and freedom.
So far, the MPA has faced more than 165 armed skirmishes against the Indian forces ever since its establishment.
Many brave sons and daughters of the soil have laid down their lives in the freedom struggle.
The armed attacks of MPA on Indian forces have somewhat become stagnant during the last two/three years, but the outfit would never relinquish the revolutionary movement until the people of Manipur attain freedom, the statement said.
The attacks on the people of Northeast in the National Capital Delhi including the death of Arunachal student Nido Tania is a clear instance of racism and discrimination of Northeast people in India.
The Indian Government is using "peace talks" as a ploy to derail the people's movement in the region.
Many revolutionary groups have been lured by Indian Government into joining the peace talks, but the people should not feel discouraged by the acts of these unscrupulous leaders, the UNLF's statement mentioned.
The outfit also extended its revolutionary salute to the people who lost their lives and suffered under the hands of Indian security forces.
