Week long free heart surgery for children from May 3

Imphal, January 08 2020: Sky Hospital, Manipur Heart Foundation and the Healing Little Hearts, UK will be organising a week long free children heart surgery camp at Sky Hospital from May 3, said Chief Cardiologist and Chairman, Sky Hospiral Dr Shyamkishore Lairikyengbam to media persons today.

Dr Shyamkishore maintained that the free heart surgery camp for children will be organised for the third time here in the State.

He stated that, last year, the camp was carried out in March and November giving successful treatments to a total of 18 children and added surgery was even carried out successfully on a two year old child at similar camp organised in the past.

Dr Shyamkishore informed that the camp is not strictly for Manipur only but children from the North East States can also participate and avail necessary treatment.

However, application to avail the opportunity will be based on first come first serve manner.

A 10 member team of experts will be coming from UK for the said camp, he added.

He appealed to all in the State and in the North East regions to avail the opportunity.
