Film Forum Manipur to stage alert sit in today, halts film screening for now

Imphal, November 07 2019: Extending solidarity to the ongoing mass movement of COCOMI, Film Forum Manipur has conveyed that an alert sit in protest will be organised at the forum's complex tomorrow.

Speaking to media persons at its office in Lamphel today, Film Forum Manipur chairman S Mangoljao said that the alert sit in protest will begin from 9 in the morning.

He appealed to all the members of the forum, Meira Paibis and locals to take part in the sit in and encourage COCOMI to strengthen its movement.

The chairman informed that, considering the present unrest in the State following the conclusion of the Naga peace talks, screening of any Manipuri film in any part of the State, except in cinema halls, will be prohibited.

He warned that the individual (s) will bear the responsibilities of any unwanted incidents if they are found screening film afterwards.

Mangoljao further maintained that the assent of screening Manipuri film will be informed to the public as per the situation of the State.
