TYCM rues closure of TRI office

Imphal, December 05 2024: Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) has submit ted an appeal letter to the Tribal Research Institute (TRI) director on Thursday, expressing serious concern over non-functioning of the TRI office, Chingmeirong, Imphal.

As per a release by TYCM Media & Information Department, the office has remained closed since the onset of ethnic clashes in Manipur on May 3, 2023 .

Although all other government offices in the state are operating and serving the people, the TRI director and staff are discharging duty from the office of Directorate of Tribal Affairs & Hills, compromising TRI's core responsibilities.

TYCM also strongly urged the authorities to address all outstanding issues promptly and ensure the resumption of normal office operations at the TRI's Chingmeirong office.
