Imphal, October 05 2024: The Manipuri feature film "Khomlang Laman", directed by OC Meira was screened at Manipur University today as part of the World Teacher's Day celebration organised by Manipur University Students Union.

The screening was attended by Manipur University, Vice Chancellor, Prof N Lokendra Singh; School of Agricultural Science, Dean, Prof GKN Chhetry; and School of Social Science, Dean, Prof Th Pumima Devi along with other faculty members, research scholars and students of the University.

During the event, OC Meira was felicitated for his notable work.

Speaking on the occasion, OC Meira shared that showcasing Manipuri films in such prestigious forums like Manipur University marks a significant step toward elevating the industry.

He expressed hope that the screening would inspire students and faculty to further explore the themes in Manipuri cinema and foster deeper engagement.

The Manipuri feature film "Eikhoigee Yum" directed by Romi Meitei was also screened as part of the celebrations.

Notably, "Khomlang Laman" had a grand screening for three days at the MSFDS Auditorium.

The film produced by Nungthilchaibi (Chana Lembi) features notable performances from Denny Likmabam, Amar Mayanglambam, Ratan Mukhai, Edhou, Oken Thoudam, Maya Choudhuri, Abenao and Ethoi Oinam.
