Imphal, January 05 2020: Working Women Forum, Manipur is supporting the January 8 all India general strike called by all India trade unions, said a statement of the forum today.

The statement issued by its vice president L Bidhumukhi Devi also denounced the State Government for arrest of AITUC Manipur general secretary L Sotinkumar and demanded that he be released without any conditions attached.

Meanwhile, endorsing the general strike, Coordinating Body of Trade Unions Manipur appealed all to cease work and support the strike on January 8 .

The strike will see participants from across the country, including Government employees, bank employees, teachers and workers from various sectors such as steel and railways.
