Imphal, October 04 2021: Imphal East District Police apprehended one drug peddler along with 120 grams of suspected heroin worth Rs 24 lakh in the international market yesterday.

According to a report from the Police, a team of Imphal East Police conducted a frisking and checking drive at Thiyam Saijin Pallak on receiving inputs about the transportation of drugs in the area during which one man was detained at around 11.20 pm.

On thorough checking of the vehicle he was riding (Activa), a black polythene bag containing 10 soap cases with suspected heroin powder were found.

The person who was identified as one Md Nawaj Khan (27), s/o Md Nazir Ahamed of Lilong Chingjao in Thoubal district has been handed over to Irilbung PS .
