Imphal, August 04 2024:
Denouncing the failure of the Government to declare the result of recruitment exam of Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) conducted by the Directorate of Education (S), Government of Manipur, in 2016-2018, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Education (S) MTS Written Test Completed 2016 & 2018 Batch has threatened to launch a hunger strike from August 7.Addressing a press conference today at Manipur Press Club, JAC convenor Pebam Gobinchand questioned the hidden agenda behind the Government's failure to declare the result of the written test for recruitment of 413 MTS posts in the Department of Education (S) even after six years ago.
Pointing out that many candidates have crossed the upper age limit and are not in a position to apply for other posts, he demanded that the Government should make special arrangements for these candidates.
Gobinchand also expressed disappointment over the response given by Education Minister Th Basantakumar to a question raised by MLA K Ranjit regarding the delay in declaring the recruitment result during the ongoing Assembly Session.
He urged the Minister to consider the difficulties faced by more than 26,000 candidates who appeared in the exam and take immediate steps to declare the result at the earliest.
"If the Government does not give a clear date for declaration of the recruitment result by August 6, the JAC will intensify its agitation from August 7 with a hunger strike", he added.
