Myanmar civilian hurt in AR firing

Imphal, April 03 2013:
A Myanmar national sustained injured when personnel of 44 Assam Rifles reportedly opened fire indiscriminately towards two of them while bringing goods into Moreh for trading.
The incident occurred around 5pm on April 2 at spot located in between Phayang village of Tamu district in Myanmar and Namli village of Ukhrul district
in Manipur.
According to report reaching Hueiyen Lanpao, the injured person has been identified as Zaw Myo (38), s/o Thaing Lwin Kou-i of Phayang village, Myanmar.
The incident occurred when the two Myanmar nationals were crossing into the Manipur side of the border along Namli village of Ukhrul district.
The report further informed that the bridge built along Taret River in Myanmar has also been destroyed by a combined team of Indian Army, KNA and NSCN-IM in the intervening night of February 6 and 7 .
