Kuki People's Alliance to debut in 2 ACs

The Kuki People's Alliance (KPA) today released its manifesto and named two candidates who will fight the assembly poll with the party ticket from Singngat and Saikul assembly constituencies.
Chinlunthang was awarded the party ticket for 60-Singngat AC while Kimneo Haokip Hangshing will fight the poll from 46-Saikul ST AC.
Addressing the event, Tongmang Haokip, president KPA said the party was formally recognised by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on January 12, 2022 .
The party touted as a political party for the Non-Naga tribes have in their manifestos said that they will work for strengthening of Article 371C, the HAC as well as the existing Autonomous District Councils.
Regulating the number of representatives in the State Assembly to give both the hill and the valley a favourable share.
Revisiting the Manipur Land Revenue & Land Reform Act 1961 (Amendment), relocation of the hill areas that are currently under valley constituencies, repealing of the AFSPA, protecting the environment and ecology, protection of catchment areas to ensure rivers doesn't not run dry, and to improve health care, education, power supply and domestic gas sector are some of the points noted in the manifestoes.
The party also said that they will work for an amicable solution to bring the Government and SoO talks to its logical conclusion.
The two candidates who will fight with the party on its maiden appearance also addressed the gathering along with other dignitaries from the party.
The party is currently based at Little Woods, Rengkai Road, Zenhang Lamka, Churachandpur.
