Imphal, November 02 2021:
As a part of its campaign to check ever increasing fraudulent practises in the market, the Protection and Preservation Committee members carried out a drive cum consumer awareness programme along Masjid Road at Khwairamband Keithel today.
During today's drive which marks the second day of the campaign, rampant sale of products without MRP tag and expiry dates were detected, said PPCM in a statement.
The members also detected shops selling items sans proper receipt, the statement said.
Most importantly, Covid related guidelines were not followed while selling and buying things, posing health risk to market goers who are busy purchasing things in the wake of the Diwali and Ningol Chakkouba festivals, it said.
Appealing to all running shops to sell quality products only, PPCM went on to urge consumers to properly check MRP and expiry dates and whether entitled quantities are assured.
