Cleanliness campaign at Jiribam Railway station

Jiribam, October 02 2018:
In pursuance of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign and in line with the celebration of 149th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, several Government departments, organisations, schools, colleges and local clubs conducted mass cleanliness campaign at their respective places and districts.
In Jiribam, the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Jiribam along with Dibong Gram Panchayat Pradhan and members jointly conducted a cleanliness drive at the railway station of Jiribam today.
The "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign which begun from September 15 ended today.
The cleanliness drive of PHED, Jiribam Division was participated by Executive Engineer (EE), PHED Jiribam Division H Bhushan Singh, Asst Engineer K Roshan Singh, Asst Engineer O Somorjit Singh along with other officials as well as Dibong Gram Panchayat Pradhan RK Nobinsana and Ward members.
During the campaign, the officials of PHED, Jiribam Division swept the premises of the railway station and its surroundings and picked up litter and waste materials from the road.
Today's cleanliness drive is a part of Nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, said Pradhan of Dibong GP RK Nobinsana and added that 'Swachhata is everyone's business' .
He appealed masses to participate in such noble initiative of the Government.
The volunteers took pledge on Swachhata.
A rally was carried out from the railway station to Irabot statue point of Jiribam to give awareness to people about cleanliness.
