Imphal, February 02 2017: A large quantity of locally brewed liquor was seized by Imphal West Narcotic Cell and Mayang Imphal police from different locations today.

Sources informed that Mayang Imphal police seized 1800 litres of local liquor from three individuals at Mayang Imphal Konuma.

Imphal West Narcotic Cell also carried out an anti-liquor drive at Lamsang Bazar area and seized around 80 litres of local liquor.

Meanwhile, Moreh Police carried out a similar drive at Moreh township today and seized 52 litres of local and Indian Made Foreign liquors.

The seized liquors have been handed over to Excise Department.

On the other hand, 1419 litres of local liquors seized by Bishnupur District Police and Excise personnel have been disposed off by setting them ablaze at Bishnupur Excise office complex.
