Imphal, July 01 2013:
JAC constituted in connection with the missing of N Ibocha of Singjamei Waikhom Leikai has threatened to launch different forms of intense agitation if the Government fails to trace the whereabouts of Ibocha at the earliest.
Representatives of JAC, civil society organisations, local clubs and meira paibees met Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and submitted a memorandum in this regard.
The memorandum demanded that the Government spell out the progress of investigation of the case.
Maintaining that Ibocha must be rescued at the earliest the memorandum also demanded that the culprits involved in his abduction be given befitting punishment.
Saying that Ibocha's family is still getting threatening phone calls from unknown callers, the memorandum also requested the Government to provide security to Ibocha's family.
The memorandum also questioned why the police is not making any progress in its investigation although two persons - Yumnam Shamu of Singjamei Waikhom Leikai and Chongtham Shanti of Pishumthong Oinam Leikai - have already been arrested in connection with the case.
The memorandum also said that failure to make any headway in the investigation of the case indicates that some influential persons are intefering into the case.
It also indicates that some individuals directly involved in the abduction of Ibocha are walking scotfree, the memorandum added.
