Imphal, June 01 2014:
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) Against the Triple Murder of Dr Kishan and his two subordinate staffs is yet to react to the verdict of the Special CBI Court holding NSCN-IM functionary 'lieutenant colonel' Hopeson Ningshen guilty of murdering the three Manipuris.
On Saturday, the Court had pronounced its verdict convicting 'lieutenant colonel' Hopeson Ningshen for committing offence punishable under IPC section 302 364(A), 394 and also 120 (B) and 411 IPC.
"We will wait till June 30 where an argument for the quantum of sentencing and final judgement will be pronounced by the Court," said a JAC member today.
The pronouncement of the verdict on the triple murder case of Dr Kishan, Token and Rajen involving self-styled lieutenant colonel Hopeson Ningshen of NSCN-IM deferred several times over one reason or the other until yesterday.
CBI registered a case in connection with the triple murder of sub-divisional officer (SDO) of Kasom Khullen, Ukhrul district, Dr Kishan and his two subordinate staff, Token, a Revenue Mandal, and driver Rajen after the case was handed over to the investigating agency on January 31, 2010 by the Government of Manipur.
The final hearing and argument of the case completed recently after a three-year long trial.
SDO Dr Kishan and his two staff were abducted by NSCN (IM) from Ukhrul district headquarters on February 13, 2009 and they were found murdered at Taphou Kuki village along National Highway-2 (Imphal-Dimapur road) on February 17, 2009 .
