Non locals detained

Three non-local women, suspected to be Bangladeshis or Rohingyas, were detained at Foreigner CID (SB) check post today.
Speaking to media persons, Foreigner CID (SB), OC, H Deven Kishore Singh said that another individual who brought the women was also detained and all four of them were later handed over to Jiribam police.
According to the officer, Nasib Ali of Singarbond part 4, PS Lakhipur Sub Division, Cachar District, Assam, brought the women in a cruiser vehicle towards Imphal and during checking by the Foreigner CID (SB) along with JCILPS Jiribam branch, fake Aadhaar cards were recovered from the women.
During preliminary enquiry, the women seem to understand Burmese dialect, the officer added.
Meanwhile, JCIPLS Jiribam branch chairman, M Hemanta Mangang, told a team of media persons that the vehicle was stopped for checking due to suspicion, and when Nasib Ali was enquired about the women, he claimed that he did not know the women personally and that a person named Lalol had requested him to transport them to Imphal.
Nasib further claimed that he knows Lalol but not his address details.
According to Nasib, Lalol told him that some people would be waiting at Jiri parking to receive the women and asked him (Nasib) to take the women till the parking.
They have been handed over to Jiribam police to take up necessary legal action.
