Imphal, September 30 2020: An online poll campaign has been underway since September 11 to vote for the 'National Butterfly' .

The online poll conducted by the National Butterfly Campaign Consortium to nominate the National Butterfly considering the ecological importance, conservation significance, and growing popularity of butterflies among the general public, will close on October 8 which is the last day of the Wildlife Week.

Every citizen may select from among 7 butterfly species shortlisted by the National Butterfly Campaign Consortium namely Five-bar Swordtail, Indian Jezebel, Indian Nawab, Krishna Peacock, Orange Oakleaf, Northern Jungle and Yellow Gorgon for nomination as the National Butterfly.
