Imphal, August 31 2015: Responding to JCILPS call, people across the four valley districts staged sit-in-protests demanding implementation of ILPS today.

During a joint sit-in-protest staged by the vendors of three Ima Keithels and Khwairamband bazar, Khwairamband Keithel Phambi Apunba Lup president Laishram Mema said that people of the State would breathe a sigh of relief only when the three Bills passed by the State Assembly are transformed into Acts after getting Governor's assent.

Thangmeiband United Club organised a mass sit-in-protest for the locals of whole Thangmeiband area near THAU ground.

Uripok Kombirei Keithel Kabrambam Leikai Meira Paibi and staff of Suba Hospital also staged sit-in-protest.

Similar protests were also staged at RIMS south gate, Uripok Achom Leikai, Uripok Khoisnam Leikai, Uripok Khumanthem Leikai, Uripok Tourangbam Leikai, Uripok Gopalji Leirak, Uripok Bachaspati Leikai, Uripok Sorbon Thingel, Ningthoukhongjam Leikai, Uripok Khaidem Leikai, Uripok Laikhurembi, Panchai Maning, Naoremthong bazar, Uripok Yambem Leikai, Uripok Polem Leikai, Uripok Achom Leikai, Wahengbam Leikai community hall, Mutum Leikai.

At Nagamapal area, sit-in-protests were staged at Lamabam Leikai, Paonam Leikai, Khwai Brahmapur and Khwai Singjubung.

At Sagolband area, sit-in-protests were staged at Mabudhou Mantri Leikai, Yambem Leirak, Thingbaijam Leirak, Tera Keithel, Yengkhom Leirak, Bijoygovinda, Lukram Leirak Awang Leikai, Meino Leirak, Tera Sayang, Salam Leikai, Thangjam Leirak and Sagolband Sayang Lambi Konthoujam Leikai.

Achanbigei Apunba Meira Paibi and North Achanbigei Development Organisation staged sit-in-protest at the community hall of Achanbigei Awang Leikai.

On the otherhand, ILP Demand Committee, Thangmeiband has said that its relay hunger strike will continue until the three Bills passed by the State Assembly are transformed into Act.

It was decided in a joint meeting held at Thangmeiband United Club.

Committee co-convenor RK Kabir said that four arrested hunger strikers of the committee are still continuing their stir in jail.
