Imphal, March 31 2016:
The Sadar Hills School Management and De-
velopment Committee Association, Manipur
has appealed to the Education Department to
relax its instruction of opening personal bank
account of the cooks of Government schools
in Sadar Hills area.
Assigning a school cook is done by
respective school SMDC for a period of
one year which is countersigned by the
Additional District Programme Officer.
The
honorarium for the cooks is released
through the respective SMDC's account,
SH-SMDCA said in a statement.
Banking facilities are not easily accessi-
ble in Sadar Hills area.
Therefore, opening
personal bank accounts would create diffi-
culties for the cooks at the time of
transacting the honorarium.
Considering the
hardship, SH-SMDCA appealed to the
Education Department to reconsider their
instruction.
