Imphal, January 31 2017: Two women cadres of the outlawed UNLF have been arrested by a team of Imphal West police led by OC (Commando) Thaingampao in a surprise operation conducted at Laipham Khunou under Heingang policec station today at around 11 am.

The arrested women cadres are identified as Huidrom Chingkheinganbi Chanu (22) d/o (L) Inao of Lamjao Mayai Leikai and Oinam Chanchan @ Jayenti @ Langlen (22) d/o Samungou of Tera Khongsangbi Mayai Leikai.

The surprise operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional SP (Operation) Dr S Ibomcha.

On interrogation, Chingkheinganbi Chanu revealed that she joined the outfit in 2013 with Army No 2401 of 40th batch while Oinam Chanchan confessed that she joined the outfit in 2011 with Army No 2384 of 38th batch.

Both the cadres have been handee over to the concerned polcie station for further necessary action.
