Jiribam, January 31 2016: The All Manipur Students' Union, District Committee, Jiribam has condemned the alleged physical assault of five students by 7th IRB personnel.

AMSU, District Committee Jiribam president Y Sanjib said that supporters of blockade imposed by AMSU, District Committee Jiribam, KSO, Jiribam & Tamenglong Branch, ZSU, Jiri and Jiri College Students' Union in connection with the demand to make Jiri College as full-fledged Government college were physically assaulted by 7th IRB personnel on January 29. Expressing displeasure over the State Government's inabil- ity to response to the demands of the students, he appealed to the State Government to consider the demand of the students at the earliest.

He also urged the Government to take up befitting actions against the IRB personnel who assaulted the students.
