5th death anniversary of Sahitya Akademi Awardee S Nandakishor Singh observed

The 5th death anniversary of Sahitya Akademi Awardee S Nandakishor Singh was organized by Khoirirol Sandok Lup, Wangjing together with his family members at the hall of Laija Esing, Wangjing Sorokhaibam Leikai today.
S Nandakishor Singh is a renowned writer of Manipur and was honoured with an award by Sahitya Academy, New Delhi in 2011 for translating a book "Kya Khoya Kya Paya" written by former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee into Meitei language as "Kari Mangkhre Kari Phangkhre" .
The anniversary function was attended by president, Manipur Sahitya Parishad Thoubal Branch, Moirangthem Rajendra Singh as chief guest; Librarian, Manipur University of Culture, Thounaojam Khomdon Singh as functional president; and president, Khoirirol Sandok Lup, Wangjing, Tongbram Babulal Singh as guest of honour.

Floral tributes and respect were paid to the photo of the late Sahitya Academy Awardee S Nandakishor by the participants during the function.
As a part of the function, N Biren Singh spoke in detail about the life of Nandakishor and his work while Dr M Priyobrata Singh spoke on 'Nandakishor as translator', his translated book 'Kari Mangkhre Kari Phangkhre' as resource persons.
It may be mentioned that late poet S Nandakishor was an approved writer of All India Radio and has written numbers of radio drama and plays in his lifetime and many other books including "Sourajagat ki Leingak" and "Saiyon Taret" .
