Lucifer-X releases debut EP

Lucifer-X, the Imphal-based thrash metal band, released their debut EP at Manipur Press Club yesterday.
Formed in December 12, 2012, the band has come a long five years performing and plan-ning for the best music experience.
Spanning a career as a metal outfit for 5 years with no adequate promotion and financial backing, the band was unable to record and release their own materials.
But with resolution and determination, Lucifer-X has released their first EP (Extended Play) titled, "Project Xtermination", consisting of five songs.
It has been released independently, with no connection with any record label.
The band's current line-up comprises guitarist Chand Khomdram, vocalist Lamjingba Wangkhem, drummer Aagoo Takhel-changbam, and bassist Birjit Kangjam.
In the five years since its inception, Lucifer-X has had many line-up changes, and Lamjingba, Aagoo and Birjit have been the only constant members.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, bassist Birjit expressed, "Our songs talk about social issues, political agendas and also about the current issues of Manipur" .
Aagoo Takhelchang-bam, while he was not on the drums, quipped in, "We take this release as the first step towards the path to success for the band.
We have been planning for this from Day 1 since the formation of the band.
And we are further planning to start writing new materials from the beginning of 2018" .
He added, 'We will try our best to help spread thrash metal and promote the local metal scene in Manipur" .
Vocalist Lamjingba Wangkhem said, "We thank all the media persons who have come for this press conference and all our friends and fans for all the support over the years" .
Guitarist Chand Khomdram said, "We want the metal bands to do something as a contribution to the metal scene and make it a bigger one.
We want the parents of the youth in Manipur who have a passion in the field of music to encourage them wholeheartedly" .
Johnny Konjengbam, who did the artwork for the EP and managed the band, mentioned, "It's not only about Lucifer-X, but I would definitely love to help every bands and also the entire Manipur metal scene as a whole just to make it a better one.
I consider my efforts of designing a band's logo or an artwork as a contribution to the scene.
And I would like to thank every person or band who appreciates and supports my works so far" .
