With the State burning in fear of a "possible extension" of Article 371 (A) of the Indian Constitution, Communist Party of India Manipur State Council has said that it will face any challenges that threaten the integrity of the State.
The party will not remain silent if the Framework Agreement hurts Manipur's integrity," said State Secretary Manipur State Council CPI L Sotinkumar today during a press meet at the office of the council - Irawat Bhawan, Imphal.
CPI will fight tooth ma nail, if the Article 371 (A) of the Indian Constitution ever extended to Manipur, he said cautioning the Government of India not to hurt the sentirnent and integrity of the people.
During the press meet, the leader of the State Council CPI L Sotinkumar said that the State CPI will join a three-months long Nationwide Campaign of the party against the 4 years of Modi's Government failure" under the theme "Save Constitution, Save Democracy" from August 1.The campaign will conclude on October 13.Sotinkumar said that the campaign will be organized in three phases.
The first phase of campaign will kick start on August 1 at Kongba Bazar at around 1 am.
In the first phase, from August 1 to August 14, public meetings and conventions will be organised in various places where the CPI leaders will point out various Government schemes that were not implemented by the Modi Government in the last four years, Sotinkumar said.
He also said that "the BJP Government failed to implement MGNREGA and other schemes".
In the second phase from August 16 to August 30, public meetings will continue in various areas to highlight labours, farmers and services laws and schemes which are not implemented by the BJP Government.
The three-month long campaign will be culminated with a mass rally at Parliament street in the National Capital where CPI, State Councils from the States of India will participate, the CPI leader added.
With regard to Manipur State campaign, Sotinkumar said that a mass rally will start from Moirang on September 11.The rally will move towards Imphal after covering many important areas.
Sotinkmar also said that some selected representatives of CPI from Manipur will participate in the mass rally in Delhi in October 12 .
Sotinkumar said that about one lakh people are likely to participate in the rally in Delhi.
Again, on October 13, the CPI Manipur State Council will organize a separate mass rally on October 13 in Delhi against the "one and half year failure of the BJP Government in Manipur", the CPI leader informed.
Further, Sotinkumar said an emergency executive meeting of CPI will be held shortly to discuss the various "burning issues like the Framework Agreement, Border Pillar issue, Manipur University crisis and Citizenship Amendment Bill" .
In the executive meeting, the members will recommend various "concrete resolutions" to give pressure on the party's higher authority, said Sotinkumar.
