Imphal, January 30 2018: A huge quantity of tobacco products were seized by Imphal West district police commando from an inter-State bus at around noon, yesterday, at ISBT complex.

According to reliable source, acting on specific information about the illegal transportation of tobacco products from other States through inter State buses, the police team launched a drive at ISBT complex yesterday.

The police team thoroughly checked all the buses parked inside the complex and were able to recover a huge quantity of tobacco products from one of the buses.

The seized items included 10 boxes Containing 500 Savera Zarda, a bag containing 11,988 Tulsi packets, 8400 Golden Khaini, a bag containing 380 Baba Black, six bags containing 7956 Sajan Khaini and three bags containing 2496 T-5 tobacco.The said items were seized by the police team on the spot after following necessary procedures and handed over to Imphal PS for taking up necessary investigation and arrest the owner of the tobacco products.
