World Tourism Day celebrated

The 27 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) organized a cultural programme based on the theme of World Tourism Day at Kakching on September 27 .
The program showcased the myriad and beautiful colours of all Indian states.
The programme included traditional dances, songs and ethnic show bringing out the role of tourism in linking together the varied cultures of the India through travel the sparkling colours of different states.
The highlight of the event was a rendering of the 'Bihu Dance' by the local cultural group.
Commandant 27 Assam Rifles witnessed the programme and interacted with the participants.
He also informed that to promote tourism, 27Assam Rifles will be organizing a National integration tour for locals to different parts of India in coming days.
Meanwhile, the 23 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) organized a Painting competition for students of Asui Tangkhul Memorial School, Holy Christian School and Morning Colony English School on September 29 at Asui Tangkhul Memorial School.
A total of 30 students participated in the event.
Prizes for Best painting for five students and consolation prizes for 10 students were given.
Teachers, staff & students appreciated the efforts made by the Unit and requested to conduct of such events in the future.
