Schools, colleges reopen today; 5 am - 4 pm curfew-free

Imphal, November 28 2024: After a hiatus of 13 days, state government on Thursday announced that classes in schools and col leges in the valley districts, barring Kakching, and Jiribam would resume from Friday (November 28), along with lengthening the curfew relaxation hours from 5 am to 4 pm .

The government had ordered closure of education al institutions in the valley districts November 16 as pre-emptive measures after recovery of bodies of three women and three children in Jiribam from the Jiri and Barak rivers.

As per an order issued by the Directorate of Education-Schools, normal classes will resume for all schools of the state, government, government aided, private and central schools from November 29.The government educational institutions or government-aided colleges under the Higher and Technical Education Department, including state universities, will resume classes with effect from Friday, a separate order said.
