Contraband items worth Rs 2 crore disposed off

Imphal, July 28 2014 :
Contraband items worth over Rs 2 crore have been destroyed (disposed off) by burning in Imphal today by the Custom Division, Imphal officials.
The banned goods include 41 packets of compressed blocks of ganja weighing 346.5 kg worth Rs 16, 36, 250 .
Spasmo Proxyvon capsules (1,20,960 capsules), Actilab-T tablets (58,500 tablets), Phensedyle syrup (100 ml of 1000 bottles), Lupicof syrup (100 ml of 1170 bottles), Actilite tablets (2,48, 000 tablets).
These medicines were worth Rs 6,16,167 .
Banned drugs such as Coldbrom tablets, Actified tablets, Certified tablets, Reloc tablets, Action Cold, Min Cold, Rectified tablets, Coldbrom (loose tablets), Marked ASMA PAX (loose) worth Rs 1,40,19,216 were also among the destroyed drugs.
Heroin of 550 gram worth Rs 55,00000 was also included in the items.
These banned goods were seized in the year 2013 and the cases related to the seizure incidents were also over, according to the officials.
The banned goods were burnt at Central Revenue Complex, Lamphel in Imphal at around 9:30 am today.
Gaikhonlung Pamei, assistant commissioner, Custom Division, Imphal who is the chairman of Drugs Disposal Committee led the team in disposing the banned stuff.
